Training programms for teachers in Yad Vashem
The teacher training project "Education after Auschwitz" has existed for more than 20 years in cooperation between the International Holocaust Memorial Yad Vashem in Jerusalem and the State of North Rhine-Westphalia. The district government of Münster is responsible for the project, in continuous cooperation with the International School for Holocaust Studies at Yad Vashem.
"The requirement that Auschwitz not be again concerns education first." Theodor W. Adorno 1966
For graduates there is also the possibility to form an educational partnership between their school and the International School for Holocaust Studies.
The success of the training program has led to its extension to the non-formal education sector. Nowadays, also police officers and cadets as well as representatives of the judiciary visit Yad Vashem for training purposes.
